Creating Your First User

By Byrne Reese
Posted May 31, 2007, in Getting Started.

Once you have completed the Movable Type installation wizard, it is time to register your first user in the system. The first you register within Movable Type is a special user in that it is given System Administrator privileges within Movable Type. You are welcome to modify the permissions for this user later, but upon first install it is important to have at least one user with the ability to perform all administrative functions within Movable Type.

To setup your first user account, furnish Movable Type with a username, a display name, an email address and a password for the user and click the Register button.

And you are done. Welcome to Movable Type!
