Introduction of Japanese plugins for Movable Type 5.2
This is the list of Japanese developed plug-ins, previously introduced during the "Movable Type Idea Exchange" conference held on October 18th, 2012 in New York.
The Japanese community is currently one of the most active among the world's Movable Type communities, with Japanese developers creating many original plug-ins and themes. All of the plug-ins included on this list are compatible with Movable Type 5.2's English environment.

| AssetExporter | Allow users to export images and theme files at the same time. |
| AssetImageSizeButton | Allows the user to set button sizes for large, medium and small buttons. Also allows the user to set a default size and positioning for thumbnails generated from uploaded images. |
| BypassDashboard | For users with authorization to only one blog, this plug-in allows them to start directly from the authorized blog's dashboard upon log-in, bypassing the user dashboard. |
| CMSContext | Allows the use of alternate al-tmpl directory to customize Movable Type management screen with template tags, such as MTEntries, on CMS templates. |
| CMSHead | Allows code insertion into the head element of the Movable Type 5 management screen. |
| CategorySearch | Allows the user to search by category on published blog entries. |
| CategorySelectorFilter | Allows the user to restrict category selection. When enabled, the user will only be able to select one category from a list predefined by the administrator. |
| CustomDefaultFields | Hides or redefines default field names, such as "title" or "body." |
| CustomFieldSearch | Allows to search within custom field data and display results with multiple custom field's value. |
| DeleteAssetButton | Generates a "delete" button for the upload image editing screen. |
| EnhancedBlogCreating | Adds extra setting options to the default blog creation screen. These settings are defined by the administrator. |
| ExpandCategoryAreaCSS | Expands the category selection area on the blog entry editing screen. |
| FacebookPoster | Automatically posts a notification to the user's Facebook wall when a new entry is published. |
| FlexibleSearch | An Ajax based jQuery search engine plug-in. Provides fast and flexible web searches when using alongside JSON search filtering. |
| ForceIndexContext | Enables the use of force index context tags in templates. |
| GoogleAnalytics | Adds a Google Analytics tabs to the blog dashboard widget. |
| Grep | Allows the use of "grep" search functions in Movable Type templates. Following the same loop rules as the <MTLoop> tag, "grep" searches data sets for regular expression matches. |
| IncludeMap | Adds the "Include Map" widget to the template editing screen. |
| MTIfPreview | Assesses and displays content written between the mt:IfPreview tags. |
| MTePub | Downloads blog content as ePub files. |
| MenuHiddener | Generates a "hidden" option button for the admin screen. Also allows users to hide menus on the management screen. |
| Minifier | Minifies JavaScript and CSS code. |
| MultiUploader | Allows the user to upload multiple files at once. |
| NumericCustomFields | Allows the creation of "integer" and "float" custom fields. |
| Object | Allows the retrieval of Movable Type object data with the MTObject tag. |
| OpenGraphLike | Uses MT tags to display various social buttons. Examples include the Facebook "like," the Google "+1" and the "tweet" buttons, among others. |
| Password Expired | Allows the admin to set an expiration date for each users' password. |
| Period | Allows an entry to be unpublished and saved as a draft at a specified time and date. |
| PreviewURL | Provides a preview URL when an entry is in draft status. The unpublished draft can then be viewed by users who do not have a Movable Type account. |
| QuickRebuild | Allows multiple blogs and websites to rebuild simultaneously. |
| ReleaseDate | Changes "published date" to the current date/time. |
| Remove Exif | Removes "Exif" data information from uploaded image files when MT generated thumbnail files are created. |
| Replacer | Replaces specified words upon rebuild. To use, define the original word first, delimit with a comma, and then type the replacement word after the comma. |
| SettingExporter | When exporting theme files, allows the user to export both blog and website settings at once. |
| SharedCategories | Shares category settings over multiple blogs. This plug-in is still in an experimental stage and might contain bugs. |
| SlideToggle | In MT5, allows the side menu to open and close with a toggle animation using jQuery's "slideToggle." |
| StyledFields | Allows the use of CSS in MT custom fields in order to change the field's size and shape. |
| SystemOverview | Adds short-cut buttons for each "System Overview" menu option to the header of the MT admin screen. |
The list of plug-ins is but a sampling of what is currently available from the Japanese end. We will continue to translate previously developed plug-ins for introduction to the international MT community.
Although the plug-ins included on the current list have been double-checked for MT 5.2 English environment compatibility, please understand that there may be some cases where a plug-in might not be 100% compatible.
Also, as the developers are Japanese, many of them cannot speak English very well. Please understand that it might be impossible for developers to be able to answer questions or concerns directly due to the language barrier.
