Are free templates available for MT from external sources?

Although I am a latecomer to the use of MT I really like the fact that it supports both static page generation, dynamic page generation (i.e. when pages are composed from data as soon as the browser requests them), and indeed a combination of the two techniques. I am still learning though.
One thing I certainly did not know until yesterday was that Movable Type was originally named “Serge” after the controversial musician: Serge Gainsbourg! Now, all I need to know is Why? ;-)

I notice there’s a conspicuous lack of a link to pages on the Widgets and Widget Sets in MT4. I’m loving the attempts in 4.01 beta 2 to make the system more user-friendly, and widgets are a big part of that. Please tell me more about them!

it would be great to have some more detail on how to change a basic MT4 default template. Also, it would be great to have some instructions on how to copy a default template with a new name so we can bootstrap from an existing template without messing it up.
