MT 5.02 and Ubuntu 14.04

I have MT 5.02 successfully installed on Ubuntu server 14.04. I can create entries, and save but when i attempt to publish i get an error:

failed loading package MT::Template::Tags::Entry for routine MT::Template::Tags::Entry::_hdlr_entries: syntax error

Likely this is due to using a version of Movable Type released more than four years ago with a very new version of Perl that is default on Ubuntu 14.04. You should upgrade to the latest Movable Type. You could also try to downgrade the Perl version to 5.14 or 5.12.

After the upgrade should be the latest version. At your suggestion I downgraded the Perl version to 5.14 and the error was gone
