Action Streams Performance Limitations

Because the Action Streams plugin pulls content from other sites in a predefined frequency of time, it is possible that a single system will not be able to handle a large quantity of imports.

About These Numbers

We will refer to the number of “services” on your Motion installation as the number of total subscriptions that users have chosen to add to their Motion profiles. If one user added their Twitter, Flickr, and Vox accounts to their Motion profile, that user would be contributing 3 services.


Cron Configuration

If you configure Action Streams to run as a cron every 30 minutes , then Movable Type will be able to handle a maximum of about 1500 services.


Daemon
If you configure Action Streams to run as a daemon, Movable Type will only be able to handle a maximum of 150 services. 

Any number of services higher than the limits above are not officially supported by Movable Type Support.
