Logging in times out

I can see my blogs but when I try to login the cursors spins and eventually times outs. It appears to access db correct because if I try to loggin with incorrect password I get an invalid pw message. This is running on a win2003 system which I inherited and don’t know where to start looking for problems. I see the following message in event logs “The script started from the URL ‘/mt/mt.cgi’ with parameters ” has not responded within the configured timeout period”
